Homes for Hope Initiative

A housing project that will change lives

The Domestic Violence Action Centre has been awarded government funding under the HAFF Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program, an investment fund that provides funding for social and affordable housing in Australia. DVAC is very excited by the project – with this funding we will be building cottages for people who have experienced domestic violence to live safely.

With this investment, DVAC will be able to further enhance safety, offer support to survivors, and work towards the abolition of all forms of violence against women and children.

What does this really mean? 

For women who have experienced domestic violence and a required to move, finding stable housing can bring up a wide range of emotional and complex feelings.

This opportunity is about so much more than bricks and mortar, it offers women and families the chance to be safe with renewed hope for the future.

This project is being delivered in partnership with Primary Advisory providing real estate, social infrastructure and commercial advisory services.

Project update

The Homes for Hope initiative has secured land with the support from a generous private donor and Ipswich City Council! We are currently in conversations with building contractors and working towards families living in their new homes by early 2027!
